This Project Network highlights key issues and initiatives for the HRWA and promotes community stewardship of the watershed through regular outings and activities.
Watershed education is an important part of the HRWA.
Through the Education & Outreach Network, environmental activities are planned such as clean-ups, hikes, and canoe trips. This Network also helps to coordinate
our Speaker's Bureau in conjunction with the Frog Listening Network by making presentations to civic organizations and schools, and supports a variety of environmental
education and public awareness programs and events that focus on the Hillsborough River and its watershed.
The Network assists in planning the HRWA annual "A River Runs Through It" community event where the beauty of the Hillsborough River watershed is
highlighted. Hundreds of people from all over the Tampa Bay area attend this free event each year to learn about the watershed through environmental education
exhibitors, nature hikes, canoe rides, food and drink, live music, and children's activities.
To help with our education and outreach activities, check our calendar each month for watershed activities.
Please call or email us to learn how you can volunteer to help us spread watershed education throughout the community.
Please contact the HRWA to learn more about the coalition and to become a part of the HRWA Coalition Network.
