The 2007 "A River Runs Through It" Event, held at the Hillsborough River State Park on October 27, 2007, from 11am to 5pm, is a special event for youth and adults in the Tampa Bay region to engage in fun, nature-based activities to celebrate Hillsborough River Watershed Awareness Week. Presentations, workshops, and educational displays will highlight the Hillsborough River’s recreational opportunities such as canoeing and fishing. Attendees will experience environmental exhibits, Florida-friendly landscaping, workshops, music and more. Event participants will have the opportunity to sign a watershed pledge and commit to behaviors that foster watershed protection and water conservation.

This event is sponsored by the Hillsborough River Watershed Alliance, Florida State Parks, the University of Florida’s Institute of Food & Agricultural Sciences Extension Service, and the Alafia River, Hillsborough River and Northwest Hillsborough Basin Boards of the Southwest Florida Water Management District. Other partners include the Tampa Water Department, Hillsborough County Water Resource Services, TECO Energy, Environmental Protection Commission, and CF Industries.
